Shan Koe Mee How to Play Guide
Shan Koe Mee is one of the most popular card games in Myanmar. It is played with a standard 52-card deck (shuffled). Each player and the Banker receive 3 cards each.
How to Count Points
The last digit of the total value of 3 cards is the score for that hand. 9 is the highest — called "Koe Pyi Tin". Face cards (10, J, Q, K) count as zero (0). A = 1 point.
Special Hands
Special hands commonly called out by players include — Thone Pone Tu (3 face cards), Ngwe Nway (3 cards of the same number), Sin Kut (consecutive cards sharing the same last digit) — these hands can pay out special prizes.
The Banker's Turn
The Banker role rotates among players. The Banker holds the other players' bets and settles wins and losses when the cards are revealed. If you do not want to be the Banker, you can pass.
Quick Reference Table
| Card Value | Points |
|---|---|
| A | 1 |
| 2 – 9 | Face Value |
| 10, J, Q, K | 0 |
| Highest | 9 (Koe Pyi) |
Table Etiquette
- Hold your cards with confidence and stay calm
- Don't act like an animal when you win
- Don't look at your cards until the banker reveals theirs
- Set a budget limit before you play
Body / Goal Total / Maung — How to bet on football
Body (Handicap)
Body is the handicap line where the stronger team gives a goal advantage to the weaker side. For example — if Team A gives 0.5 goals, a body bet on Team A wins only if Team A wins by at least 1 goal. The body line is the clearest way to tell which team is actually favored.
HandicapGoal Total (Over/Under)
You bet on whether the total goals in a match will be Over or Under the listed number. If the line is 2.5, you need 3 or more goals for Over to win. Check both teams' attacking form before deciding.
Over/UnderMaung (Accumulator)
Maung is a Parlay/Accumulator where you combine 2 or more matches into one bet. Every match must be correct to win — the payout is higher, but the more matches you add, the greater the risk.
AccumulatorPractical football betting tips
- Before the match, check both teams' recent form, injury status, and match venue
- Watch for body line movements to spot which side the big money is backing
- For maung, combine only 2–3 matches — the more matches you add, the higher the chance of a losing slip
